Create Interesting Sounds using Effectrix

At first glance, you might think that this is some kind of cheesy vst that someone put together and that it doesn't do much, but you would be overlooking one of the most creative and easy to use sound manipulation plugins of all time. This is Effectrix by a great company called Sugar Bytes. The company was started by Robert Fehse (formerly with Native Instruments) and Rico Baade. Their goal has been to create "great products that can do more stuff with less buttons, that have more features with less instructions, and that are simply more fun and less expensive." I can say that they have been achieving those goals with Effectrix and other great products like Artillery 2. This tool is great for coming up with wonderful variations of loops or for creating intriguing audio for sound design. O’Spada: “Time for a Swedish Invasion”

There are few times that I run across a band that seems to captivate me right off the bat, but the Swedish based group O'Spada ended up being one of those rare finds. Their new single "Time" sounds like a mixture of Prince keyboards and funk guitar mixed with 80's funk/pop music in a melting pop of unique vocal expressions by front-lady Julia Spada.
Not only is the single a refreshing taste of music outside of the current American Pop music scene, but the band also decided to have a remix contest. Unfortunately, the remix contest is over...BUT if you still want to give it a go, click on the link to download the remix files.

Mr. Hudson & Kanye West “Supernova”

I have to admit that I have not been a huge fan of Kanye West and his child-like rants and fits, but hooking up with Mr. Hudson was a pretty obvious move. The single "Supernova" (produced and featuring Kanye West) has a great beat and that creates and excellent pallet for Mr. Hudsons vocals. The song starts off great, but when Kanye comes in with his auto-tune vocals it almost kills the mood. Maybe Kanye should heed Jay-Z's advice and bring death to auto-tune. If you can get past the a.d.d. lyrics that Kanye is spitting, it's really a good song. I'm eager to hear more from Mr. Hudson on Kanye's beats. watch the official video
